Laptop keyboard. Some keys are scrambled.

Hello guys,

The strangest thing happened to me. I have a laptop, Lenovo Y500. Archlinux, updated to the last. Openbox for WM. Yesterday my keys got scrambled. I don`t know how. I was updating my Android Studio and SDK, and it failed due to full /var and /tmp. I fixed the problem, but had to reboot. After a reboot the keys were in different position.

I use xbindkeys to check which key is which. I tested the keyboard with http://en.key-test.ru/ too. The same result.

The problem is only in X. When I am in text mode, the keys are OK. Everything works find. When I startx, they are scrambled again. That is why I think it is not a hardware problem.

Re: Laptop keyboard. Some keys are scrambled.

You should fix your .xinitrc, see the wiki (not related to your issue, just a good idea).

Does this match your hardware and config (especially the ,phonetic part)?

Re: Laptop keyboard. Some keys are scrambled.

Hello,

Yes, it matches. US and Bulgarian phonetic alphabets, Alt+shift to toggle.

I don`t know about the first line.... It is an integrated keyboard in the laptop. No external keyboards are attached.

I will check the .xinitrc. Thanks for the tip.

Regards.
