[SOLVED] Can't change screen brightness over Gnome GUI or hotkeys

I have the problem, that I can't change the brightness of my laptop screen over the Gnome GUI. Also the hotkeys for the brightness have no effect.
When the laptop starts the GUI shows that the brightness is on the lowest level, in real the brightness is at the maximum level. Then I can change the brightness in the GUI and nothing happens.

A few weeks ago the brightness worked, in the GUI and with the hotkeys, but after an update or so it stopped working.
One way how I can change the brightness is over console:

xbacklight -set 100

When I look at the log of journalctl I see the following line:

gnome-settings-[847]: Failed to set new screen percentage: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Power was not provided by any .service files

Can this line have something todo with the problem? And if yes how can I create the missing service?
Or have you other ideas where I should have a look?

Thanks for any help smile

Re: [SOLVED] Can't change screen brightness over Gnome GUI or hotkeys

Another important fact: The problem exists just for my main user.
If I login with another user the brightness control works and also before I make the login everything works...

There must be something defect with my main user, but I have no idea what...
