This thread:
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=183603
promises to fix something that's been nagging me...I couldn't get bluetooth on my Dell Vostro 1015 running. The perfectly clear fix in the thread (from 2014) seemed to work for lots of readers there, but that was for a far, far earlier kernel, 3.15, not 4.10.8.1.
The drivers in question, ath3k and btusb, will have changed less, I think...so my question is whether editing ath3k.ko and btusb.ko via sed should still work ok...?! I think so, and will of course keep copies of the unedited modules, but thought I would ask.
Also, why is something like this not fixed at kernel.org, two-plus years later?
thanks to all,
Dave
