Mythtv package latest upgrade fails

I updated to the latest mythtv package this morning. the backend failed to start and it is failing on not finding libcrypto.so.1.1 . i am using regular repositories not testing repos and the openssl is the latest package but it does not look like it provides that file.

i did create a symlink to create the file and link it with libcrypto.so.1.0.0 to overcome the error and the backend and frontend now start, mythbackend gives a log error as:

mythbackend[814]: /usr/bin/mythbackend: /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.1.1: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libmythtv-0.28.so.0)

but it goes on to start and run. i have not seen anything else not working so far.. i see that file (libcrypto.so.1.1) is provided in the testing package but i would rather not enable the testing repo's.

is there any other way around this error ?? thanks .

Re: Mythtv package latest upgrade fails

Same problem here.  I believe openssl is only used for Mythtv's Airtunes support, so if you're not using that you should be ok until openssl v1.1 is out of testing.  I went ahead and filed a bug report.

Don't do this, soname bumps happen because of incompatible changes, masqeurading one soname version as another is a sure fire way to break things. Filing a bug report was the correct thing to do. Downgrade your system in the meantime if you really need mythtv to work right now.
