Bcm43xx

With the new 2.6.17 kernel in the testing directory that I just installed, the bcm43xx module is supposed to be included but after copying my extracted broadcom firmware files to /lib/firmware it still doesn't load. I get no error messages or anything. Is the /lib/firmware directory the correct one to copy the firmware files. Do I need to use ndiswrapper ?

Not sure if you still need help with this one, but when I was testing out Fedora and Ubuntu that was the right folder to copy the files to.

Re: Bcm43xx

I tried to use the driver with my 4318 based card and had no luck. I extracted the firmware from a supported driver into /lib/firmware and the module loaded without error and I was able to bring up the interface. I couldn't connect though, I tried everything. Finally I just blacklisted the bcm43xx module and loaded ndiswrapper back up and it has been flawless.

I guess I will have to wait for this project to mature before I try to use it again.
