I can no longer use kmail with gmail. When I try add IMAP account and type "imap.gmail.com" in server field kmail disable password field and when I press OK it opens some kind of web browser with gmail login page. Can this "very smart" behaviour be disabled in favour of regular IMAP configuration?
"SOLUTION"
If you concern OAUTH2, replacing imap.gmail.com with imap.googlemail.com should™ skip the hardcoded check.

I'd bet on https://support.google.com/a/answer/6260879?hl=en but you didn't provide any useful information...

No, you can't disable it at runtime, only at build time. You didn't say what the actual problem is.

Afaiu you only need to enter you creds there once in order to use the OAUTH2 login.

this is may be true, but my kwallet uses gpg key to encrypt passwords, and if master password is not entered in 30sec the kmail/kontact/akonadi will spam my desktop every 60 sec with gmail login window, which gets me triggered, because I against non-optional hard-coded commercial services that require extra interaction.

this is the "solution", thank you

Sounds like a bug that you should report upstream.
