As per this bug

it seems that on various thinkpad models the new ecp firmware update triggers some kernel bug
(starting from 4.9 series),
which (sometimes) causes the fan to go on indefinitely after suspend.
Does anyone know what could be the cause on the Lenovo firmware side?
