How much system RAM for Arch-based MythTV box?

I'm thinking of using an older (not too old) computer I have sitting around to build a MythTV box. My current question is about the specs necessary to make this useful for everyday capture/playback, and other normal HTPC related tasks. So, how much system memory do I need? 512MB, 1GB, more? Oh, and what about CPU? I've got and old Athlon XP 3200+ that I'm not using. Would that work well? My budget is basically USD $200-300 for new parts and the rest must come from my personal parts surplus.

Re: How much system RAM for Arch-based MythTV box?

My mythtv frontend was an Athlon 1400+ with 512MB of RAM. It was more than adequate... though I doubt it would be for HD recordings.

You'll be fine.
