After upgrade to KDE 3.5.3 i'me betting a small bug when initializyng KDE, the moodin engine doesn't complete to the last step, before (1~2s) close it get's a buncy icon in the mouse pointer and the redraw isn't made becomming the background of the bouncy icon white.
The programs aren't still loaded and the desktop is still loading (for example: amarok, kopete,...).
It's just a visual bug, so... only for warning

I've tried KDE 3.5.3, got nothing like you're describing... You sure the mirror you used was fully synced?

Getting this one as well, but it lasts very little.

try rebuilding moodmin, in the previous kde pkg there were issues with rgb path that are fixed in the latest.

I get a KDE icon bouncing for a few seconds (5 - 10) and then it goes away and that's it.
But since you get white stripes I wonder if something has crashed in the background.
Take a look in .kde/tmp-your_system_name/konqueror-crash-**.log see if there is anything to give you a clue.

If it's the same bug that was reported on the ML, it has been fixed in: kdeartwork 3.5.3-2

i've been having the same problem, i upgraded kdeartwork but it's still there.
Also, in KDE 3.5.2, my taskbar icons were smaller and in two lines, whereas in 3.5.3 they are larger and occupy a single line. Anyone know anything about that?
