I am having a good time with Arch Linux until recently, it sometimes gives out loud beep sounds.
For example, when I try to move to the end of the line using right arrow, it will continuously give out loud beep sounds. It seems like my laptop is giving me a warning.
The same thing happened when I click on 'Log out' button in Xfce.
I tried to mute the sound, but it did not work.
I do not know when it will give out this loud beep sound. It is very embarrassing when my laptop do this in public.
Can anyone help plz

I'm guessing you are talking about the "PC speaker". There's an ArchWiki article that talks about it and lists different ways to disable it:

Hope I won't get any annoying beep sound any more.
Thanks

Have you solved it? I disable it in system setting and it does work. But recently I find when I in "save file" window, for instance, when using Typora edit a new file and press Ctrl+S to save it, in the save window I press Backspace to back to the last directory, but all it gives to me is an annoying beep sound. If there any ways to disable it completely?

The thread is marked solved, and is over four years old, so who are you asking? Please read: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Genera … bumping%22
