My MCE remote is automatically set-up by the system as a keyboard device, allowing it to work without setting up LIRC.
However as I prefer a low repeat delay with a high repeat rate and as XFCE apparently applies its keyboard settings for all keyboard devices, these settings interfere with the remote and IR commands are often sent twice after a single button press.
Creating separate X configurations with different AutoRepeat delays and rates works only while in virtual console. As soon as I switch back to XFCE, they are overridden.
Is it possible to discard XFCE's keyboard configuration or to enforce/reapply the one set up for X after the desktop environment is started?
