nvidia driver kills intel hybrid boot on laptop

Hi,

I have a laptop with an intel (P530) and an nvidia (Quadro m2000m) card.

The machine booted fine with the "Hybrid" setting in bios, then using the integrated graphics and the intel video driver.

I then set "discrete" only in the bios and installed the proprietary nvidia(-dkms) driver: again everythings works perfect.

But here is the problem: with nvidia drivers installed, I no longer can boot with the "hybrid" setting in bios activated: I get only a black screen at the end of the boot.

When I change into a console, there is no error (EE) line in /var/log/Xorg.0.log, but there is a message that the intel driver has been unloaded.

Only after removing the nvidia driver from the system can I boot with both cards enabled (= "hybrid" in bios).

How can I keep the nvidia driver installed and at the same time boot with intel-only?

Thanks

You probably need to configure the system following the Optimus setup in the Wiki.
