(SOLVED) Intel HD 630, no 3D acceleration (works on Ubuntu 17.04)

Hi guys!

I've got a new desktop computer with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz, and an integrated GPU.
lscpi says:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Device 5912 (rev 04)

The problem I find is that I cannot get 3D acceleration to work.
glxinfo says:

name of display: :0
X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 154 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 24 (X_GLXCreateNewContext)
  Value in failed request: 0x0
Serial number of failed request: 35
Current serial number in output stream: 36

I've tried with the modesetting driver as well as with the intel one. None works.

A live Ubuntu 17.04 works (it uses modesetting DDX with glamor). It provides everything: dri, xv and vaapi.

If I use the intel driver, I get vaapi and xv, but not dri.

Has anyone found similar issues and, more importantly, a solution for this?

---EDIT------
Stupid me, problem was that I used to have a NVIDIA card. When I plugged my HDD into this computer I forgot to remove the NVIDIA-related packages that include a different libGL.so libraries. Getting rid of them solved the problem.

I'd be surprised if you managed to get 3D acceleration out of the usb3 controller.

Don't cherry pick the output of commands if you don't know what you are doing.

Check dmesg and Xorg logs for any hints about the possible problem. Don't use xorg configuration files and try again.

big_smile. Right. I was too quick.

Thanks, but I do. However I made a mistake smile.

I already did before posting. If I'm posting is because that gave me nothing.

Ok, I found the problem. Silly me it was too obvious that I didn't see it.
Since I'm using my old HDD into this computer, and I used to have a NVIDIA card, I forgot to remove the NVIDIA-related packages and hence was using the wrong libGL.so.

Getting rid of them solved the problem for good.
