lxde - no session for pid n

I get a popup every time i start/reboot the system. the pid points to lxpolkit. How can I find the error? There are a lot of forum posts about this problem in an ubuntu derivat but these workarounds in the bug reports do not work.

Re: lxde - no session for pid n

Usually that message is a result of starting a session for X in the wrong way..

How do you start X : startx/xinitrc , xinit directly, a display manager ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: lxde - no session for pid n

I use lightDM and openbox without .xinitrc but enabled lightdm with "systemctl enable lightdm" before I used kde and gnome but I think I fully uninstalled it.

Re: lxde - no session for pid n

so you use the display manager lightdm .

Wiki has lots of info how to change lightdm looks, but not much actual configuration info.
It does appear there are 2 config-files that matter :

/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and ~/.dmrc .

please post their contents.
