Hello Community,
I am using Arch Linux and have a Xerox Phaser 6121MFP printer attached in the network.
I installed CUPS and all available foomatic drivers:
foomatic-db 3:20170106-1
foomatic-db-engine 4:4.0.12-3
foomatic-db-gutenprint-ppds 5.2.12-1
foomatic-db-nonfree 3:20170106-1
foomatic-db-nonfree-ppds 3:20170106-1
foomatic-db-ppds 3:20170106-1
Nevertheless, I cannot find a driver for my particular printer:
nikolay@nikolay-t440p ~> lpinfo -m | grep -i 6121
returns nothing.
However, the wiki says that foomatic should be sufficient.
A few months ago I was using Debian Testing and there I had the printer working flawlessly and using:
root@nickolay-pc /home/nickolay # lpinfo -m | grep 6121
foo2zjs:0/ppd/foo2zjs/Xerox-Phaser_6121MFP.ppd Xerox Phaser 6121MFP Foomatic/foo2lava (recommended)
I had the following drivers installed:
root@nickolay-pc /home/nickolay # dpkg --get-selections| grep -i foo
foomatic-db-compressed-ppds install
foomatic-db-engine install
printer-driver-foo2zjs install
printer-driver-foo2zjs-common install
I tried to copy the .ppd file from /etc/cups/ppd in Debian and use it in Arch's CUPS, but I cannot yet communicate with the printer.
Does anybody have any advise on how I could obtain the proper driver?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Nikolay

It looks like the PPDs are provided by foo2zjs, in the AUR. Perhaps they were at one point part of the foomatic package?
If that works for you it would be helpful to update the wiki entry - it looks like the Phaser 6115MFP is in the same boat, so both could be updated.

Thank you very much, @pypi!
That solved the problem. It seems that foo2zjs migrated from foomatic.
As I am new to Arch Linux, I will read the Wiki editing guidelines and will submit a change in the Wiki article about CUPS.
Kind regards,
Nikolay
