Hello, everybody!
Since Monday my konsole freezes temporarily and I also encounter problems with the i3bar (sometimes the dialog of the nm-applet, after clicking on it, does not appears).
I tried several things I found on the internet, but I have no idea what I could try next to fix this.
What I recently found out is that it happens more often, after I click <TAB> for autocompletion in the konsole.
This happens on my desktop computer and also on my laptop.
I really don't know where this problem comes from.
I am using Arch Linux with i3 and konsole with zsh.
Some specs:
$ uname -a
Linux Arch-Desktop 4.11.3-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 28 10:40:17 CEST 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux
$ i3 -v
i3 version 4.13 (2016-11-08) © 2009 Michael Stapelberg and contributors
$ konsole -v
konsole 17.04.2
$ zsh --version
zsh 5.3.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu)
I hope that somebody knows a solution.
Thanks in advance.

I can confirm this issue on my computer.
$ uname -a
Linux landau 4.11.5-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed Jun 14 16:19:27 CEST 2017 x86_64 GNU/Linux$ zsh --version
zsh 5.3.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu)$ konsole --version
konsole 17.04.2$ i3bar -v
i3bar version 4.13 (2016-11-08) © 2010 Axel Wagner and contributors
Furthermore I have observed this behavior on a Ubuntu 16.04 workstation I use at work. I am sure that I use older software versions there. If I find a fix, I will let you now.

same here on lxde/ openbox / bash .
If i wait long enough ( sofar less then 60 seconds), it does respond again .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Completing what? Just fIlenames?
Does it also happen if you disable the network?
Everyone here using networkmanager?
(The assumption is a broken network call timing out instead of just failing; some bogus DNS or so - notably if the problem "suddenly" popped up and also hit a ubuntu stack)

I think they are working to fix this.....there are many users with the same problem.
Maybe the upgrade of plasma-workspace from 5.9.5.1-1 to 5.10.0-3 causes this issue as it is stated here https://github.com/i3/i3/issues/2806.
I temporarily switch to termite and netctl as an alternative.

Looks like a DBus timeout.

Check https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=227681
I noticed similar delays in krusader when deleting a file the first time, and in konsole while exiting .
Installing notify-osd solved everything, so it seems related to kde notifications not being able to send a notifcation somewhere.

Confirming. Sometimes a random window completely freezes, around 30-60 sec.
I possess a device, in my pocket, that is capable of accessing the entirety of information known to man.
I use it to look at funny pictures of cats and to argue with strangers.
