How can I force gnome-terminal to redraw the lines with ranger?

Hi everybody,

I'm using gnome-terminal and would love to stick with it if possible.

I'm using ranger as my preferred file manager. ranger is able to preview images using w3m right in the terminal. There's no problem per se with showing the images.

A problem arises when I move from the image file to a text file. gnome-terminal will only redraw the lines containing text, which leads to an untidy view. This problem doesn't appear when using ranger in xterm.

I'd like to know if it's possible to force gnome-terminal to redraw every line when moving to the next line. That would solve this problem.
