Dear all,
I have an issue similar to this one https://www.gns3.com/qa/qsslsocket-cann … -unresolve;
I'm trying to install GNS3 GUI by source (git) and when it starts some error messages are shown in the Console.
It was installed in Arch Linux, I prefer to install by source because the Arch User Repository has only versions prior to 1.5.x and the newest version is 2.0.x as you know.
I want to use the GNS3 VM deployed in VMWare so my issue is only GUI related and there is no problem with the Server.
Could someone help me?
Thanks in advance
You can see the error messages in the picture: http://imgur.com/a/978uK

Please post the PKGBUILD you used so we can try to replicate the issue.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I did not use a PKGBUILD provided by AUR.
The following steps are performed:
Dependencies installation:
sudo pacman -S python-pip wget git
sudo pacman -S python-pyqt5 qt5-tools qt5-multimedia python-pyzmq
sudo pacman -S gcc cmake libelf libpcap
Python modules needed:
sudo pip install --upgrade pip
sudo pip install -U tornado ws4py setuptools netifaces zmq dev
sudo pip install pyqt5
Finally:
mkdir -p /tmp/gns3
cd /tmp/gns3
git clone https://github.com/GNS3/gns3-gui.git
cd gns3-gui
sudo python setup.py install
And then the gns3 is available by executing: $ gns3
Thanks

Oh good god. You installed a bunch of unknown crap with pip that is not set up for Arch. No wonder you're having problems.

The top comment (dated may 17) on the aur page of gns3-gui has a PKGBUILD that will install gns3-gui v2.0.0 .
It was created by gns3-gui aur maintainer, and states that updating gns3-gui is easy, the problem is with gns3-server .
I had hoped you updated that PKGBUILD to get latest released version , gfernandop .
Try to uninstall the gns3-gui and revert the pip stuff .
Then install the base-devel group, get the PKGBUILD and edit it.
run makepkg, ask for help if you get errors.
