Game removed: AppID 261640 "Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel", ProcID 9271 I had a look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/St … ime_issues as well as the rest of the page.
I have:
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?nam … ve-runtime
installed, and am using Mesa:
glxinfo | grep OpenGL
OpenGL vendor string: X.Org
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD POLARIS10 (DRM 3.10.0 / 4.11.5-1-ARCH, LLVM 4.0.0)
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 17.1.2
OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 4.50
OpenGL core profile context flags: (none)
OpenGL core profile profile mask: core profile
OpenGL core profile extensions:
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 17.1.2
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30
OpenGL context flags: (none)
OpenGL extensions:
OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.1 Mesa 17.1.2
OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.10
OpenGL ES profile extensions:Some other games work fine, but e.g. Borderlands does not.
I tried removing the steam runtime again with that `find ... -delete` command but to no avail. I tried setting a few different startup commands/parameters, but to no avail.
I am out of ideas. What else can I provide you with, so that you can point me in the right direction?

I have the same exact issue (but I am using an nvidia card).
➜ ~ glxinfo | grep OpenGL

OpenGL extensions:
OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.2 NVIDIA 381.22
OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.20

Of course disabling the gameoverlay does not change a thing either ![]()

Can you elaborate a bit more what you did? Is it resolved for you? For me it worked for years/months and suddenly not anymore ![]()
I read something about optirun etc. But as I am not an nvidia user that is not valid for my case.

file * | grep ELF | cut -d: -f1 | LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. xargs ldd | grep 'not found' | sort | uniq
ldd: warning: you do not have execution permission for `./libav_h264.so.56'
ldd: warning: you do not have execution permission for `./libx264.so.142'Not sure what's that supposed to mean. I mean, I can chmod/chown that file but then what?
e.g.
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/lib:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH" %command%does not work

does this problem happens only with borderlands ??
from the Error it seems it tries to load a 32-bit version of gameoverlayrenderer.so but I guess borderlands is 64-bit and that's why it fails.
I would to try to check what is causing the wrong gameoverlayrenderer.so to be loaded, maybe an error in the launching script of the game ?
In any case you probably want to preload the 64-bit gameoverlayrenderer.so which for me is in
~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_64/gameoverlayrenderer.soOffline

Do you happen to know where such scripts reside? It's no bash script in
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/BorderlandsPreSequel/Offline

The warnings about gameoverlayrender are harmless, your real problem is: "Symbol `_ZTVN10__cxxabiv120__si_class_type_infoE' has different size in shared object", probably related to the libcxxrt.so the game is trying to use.
What shared libraries is the executable trying to load?
You can find out with:
ldd /path/to/BorderlandsPreSequeledit: this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=227149 also might help.

arshesney seems to be correct and the "Symbol `_ZTVN10__cxxabiv120__si_class_type_infoE' has different size in shared object" is what causing the game to crash.
try to enter this in the steam launch options (this works for borderlands 2 might work for borderlands the pre-sequel)
env LD_PRELOAD='' %command%also this thread might help for more information https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/c … erlands_2/

Thank you, this works.
I wonder though. There are numerous good intentional posts that try to fix this and they do some LD_PRELOAD, but never with "emptyness"
What does `env LD_PRELOAD=''` do exactly?

I not sure but I think it makes it ignore the shared objects files that are in the folder with the executable which I guess are causing the problem.
