[solved] Why does adding a new drive break my rEFInd launchers?

I thought it all used persistent naming so why does adding a new drive break anything at all?

I added a new SSD to my box as in it's connected to the power and mobo. When I run REFInd at boot all of the launchers/links to the stubs (?) are broken. I unplugged the drive from mobo and it's all fine.

Re: [solved] Why does adding a new drive break my rEFInd launchers?

I figured this out.

When it makes no sense that software is causing the problem look to the hardware. On this I have two tips.

First, when adding a new drive or any hardware to your box always check all the cables are properly located/plugged in when you are done.

Second, buy SATA cables with clips.

Somehow the SATA cable for my Arch drive had come loose from the mobo.
