Adding a user path to MANPATH

I have a ~/.local/bin folder to which I have been adding some homemade scripts that I wish only this user to have access to.

In addition I have been writing man pages for these scripts that I wish to store under the same structure for consistency, at /.local/share/man.

How do you propose I extend $MANPATH under Arch to include this folder without editing the global /etc/man_db.conf?

I probably made this post longer than it should only because I lack the time to make it shorter.

Re: Adding a user path to MANPATH

To be clear, I did read the wiki (man and $MANPATH). I'm however eerie of commenting unset MANPATH in /etc/profile, since I'm not clear of the consequences.
