Plasma desktop 5.10 weirdness, even after fresh drive format

Ever since Plasma desktop 5.10 came out last week, I've been having some rather annoying issues, even after I formatted my drive and installed Linux from scratch.

Every now and then, quite frequently, and most noticeably through the "empty trash" warning, a KWallet setup prompt, or saving a screenshot with Spectacle, the program in question would hang for about 20 seconds before resuming, and in the meantime, the painting of the hanging dialog gets all funky (screenshot below). The dialog cannot be closed or interacted with other than moving it around the screen, and additional prompts when trying to close it also exhibit the behavior.

Don't do that either: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … way_street

Post some details, which graphics card and driver are you using? Does the same issue happen with the default WM theme, like e.g. Breeze? Is your session set up correctly? What are the outputs of

hostnamectl status
loginctl show-session

That's a dbus timeout. Is your DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS correctly set?

Well, the post pointed out something I didn't yet read. I skimmed it at first, which was silly. It's just me pointing out what he told me.

Anyway, I'll get to this by tomorrow. I spent all day switching/installing desktops trying to figure out alternatives and I'm exhausted. Hope you don't mind a consecutive post about the results tomorrow.

Alright, here you go. Also I'm using NVIDIA GTX 960 with the proprietary driver. I'm using Breeze widget theme. I've tried different WMs (openbox) and different DMs (lightdm) with the same result. Additionally, I tried dbus-monitor but the output is confusing and big.

hostnamectl status

Re: Plasma desktop 5.10 weirdness, even after fresh drive format

That looks alright, another thing that might be giving you issues, are there any files in  ~/.config/systemd/user/* related to gnupg? Remove them, and any symlink in the default.target.wants directory that should be in the same path: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/54396

Re: Plasma desktop 5.10 weirdness, even after fresh drive format

Actually, ~/.config/systemd doesn't exist for me. However /etc/systemd/user/default.target.wants/ contains xdg-user-dirs-update.service
