Any updates?  I'm looking at a new thinkpad (r, z, or t) since my t42 is being handed over to my wife.  Issues with sata and suspend or anything like that?

Oh, yeah - it works perfectly - the sound card gave me some trouble until the 2.6.18 version of snd-hda-intel (also note: the modem must be turned ON in the bios for sound to function).  Other than that it all works great.

Re: Thinkpad Ahoy!

Good to know - thanks.  As far as I can tell, there is no way to around getting the new intel card, which sucks.  I'd much rather go the madwifi route you did - I've seen multiple refs to bugs in the new intel driver.  I guess PCMCIA or aftermarket minipci will be in order.

my card uses the same module and i would like to know if you have your input interface - i.e. mic - working. the output works just fine for me but no mic at all. i am running a 2.6.19 kernel.
