XGL question

When a new window is created, XGL does a fade-in effect for it. That happens on my user account that I login into through GDM.

When I login as root into the command line, and start XGL manually with startxgl, new windows and menus "burst out" instead of fading in (they come to the foreground from a distance, sort of).

The second effect is much better. How can I disable fading in and make it "burst in" on my user account? I hope I've been clear.

Re: XGL question

Compiz uses gconf for its settings. You can edit the settings using gconf-editor, for example. I don't know the exact place for what you need, and it's not installed so I can't check, but it will be under /apps/compiz. I'm sure someone else can tell you exactly where the setting is, or you can just browse in there and find it.
