I wonder whether is is possible to to ignore a whole group of packages (fo example kde) during updating with pacman -Syu, if not wouldn't it be a good feature?

Group support for IgnorePkg? Perhaps it would be a good idea... Never really thought about it though.

i would second a request for this feature if it were possible... its just nice to be able to hold back a group of packages instead of adding each one to an ignorepkg line
i cant say i'd use it all that often, but it would be nice to have the flexibility to hold back "kde" or "xorg"

I think it should be IgnoreGroup instead of IgnorePkg. It seems like a simple addon and one that would be very useful.
