The only thing was that I had to install the kernel26-kamal package to get the backlight brightness control to work but that was a blessing given that it game me the opportunity to run kernel 2.6.38 with specific CPU optimization and autogroup_scheduler turned on.
High capacity SDHC card, webcam in cheese, mic, etc... all work fine.

I've been running Arch on my HP Compaq nw8240 since I got it in December. Recently flashed to a modified BIOS that allows me to use my new ath9k chipset wireless 802.11n card. Machine works pretty great aside from graphics issues...can't play any 3D games or run Compiz without it hard freezing. Don't know if it's hardware or driver related, but I just put new thermal paste on the GPU.

I'm running Arch on my Thinkpad W500. Everything works fine expect the "Fingerprint Reader" and the "Active Protection System" which protects the internal harddrive. Currently I'm using the FireGL v5700 card with catalyst instead of the onboard Intel card.

Running archlinux on a Dell Studio XPS M1340.
Some wiki entries on how to setup stuff (though some of them are obsolete now): https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_XPS_M1330 and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_Studio_XPS_13
Most stuff is running flawlessly now. Had to wait for proper support of nvidia's proprietary driver for my graphics card though. HDMI used to not work at all!
Only thing messed up is that bloody Ricoh firewire adapter. It's a pain in the ass. And one of my usb ports seems to get recognized as USB 1.1... still have to figure out why that is.
Otherwise running gnome and liking it!

Installed Arch Gnome on my Compaq Presario CQ56 with AMD processor.
Everything worked fine on initial install except Arch was overheating my processor, so I enabled CPU scaling and it fixed that problem. The only other issue I had was getting Arch to mount my external HDD with full permissions (it only mounted as read only). I ran the CHOWN command, but that didn't work (even though it said it did) so I ran ntfsfix and now it mounts with full permissions. Pretty good experience.

Yo Dawg, I heard you likes patches, so I have created a patch for your patch, so you can patch your patches before you patch.

Asus X5DC -- Everything works ok, except minor issue with SIS671 GPU. Initially, X will work with a resolution of 1024x768, using vesa driver. However, it needs the latest GIT version of the SIS671 driver to work at its proper resolution of 1368x768.

But.. the Broadcom Wireless card was poorly placed in this laptop, it placed right above the nVidia Corporation C51 [GeForce Go 6100] chipset which leads to overheating. On another note, there was a Battery Recall for this model as well in May of 2009. The power supply also gets extremely hot and just recently I had to get a replacement. Thank god i was home, the wire that connects to the computer started to spark and melt (right near the plug, guess there was a short but still). No damage to the laptop thank god.

I'm so happy with this laptop. All hardware works with Arch and I get 6 to 9 HOURS of BATTERY LIFE. I highly, highly

I've had great success with Dell Latitude lines. Most of them use the Intel wireless so haven't had any hassles getting them working. I use a D430 to carry to work when I want to take a personal laptop (since I have to carry a corporate laptop for work) since it's so nice and light.

Running it with Gnome 2.32 on my HP Compaq NC8430. Gets very hot, but plays games much better than my NW8240.

Everything works ok except for the xD card port, which there appears to be no working driver for in the kernel (other types of card in that port work fine, just not xD).
I've also run Arch on a Dell Studio 1535 and have not experienced any problems.
