Kdenlive refuses to use both CPU cores when rendering

I have "Threads" set to 2, but it's only using 1 core to render! I know that I have two cores and that both of them are functioning, but on my little CPU graph one core shoots up to full usage while the other one hardly does anything. I just rendered a video yesterday without issues, so what's going on?

Maybe you have been encoding videos with different encoders while only some of them are multithreaded?

tom.ty89 I don't know, I've tried changing the encoding settings around but it's still only using one thread.

Well I didn't mean the encoding setting but the capability of the encoders themselves, like, maybe x264 supports multithread encoding but not xvid...

Oh, I see. I just tried a lot of the different formats you can render to and it seems like some of them make more use of the second core, but not to full capacity?

EDIT: Right after I posted that both cores were on full capacity.
