xorg not finding fonts unless...

I put them in .fonts in my home directory. This happened after pacman updating my laptop, but the problem did not occur on my desktop.

Any way to fix this other than copying the fonts from /usr/share/fonts to .fonts (which works but I'd like to fix this for other reasons)? Thanks for any help.

Try re-updating your fonts

You're welcome guys, and just to complete what i said in my previous post that this script isn't mine, it's taken from user contribution forum, it has been made by dtw and the thread is here -> http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?t=9651

I modify it a bit but still the same smile
