July 2006 Screenshots

Guidelines
· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:

$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 20% thumb-screenie.png

Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies.  You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

This displays the thumbnail as a link to the screenie like this:

thumb-screenie.png

· If you do not have your own upload space you can upload to http://art.archlinux.org and link your shot here (with text) for discussion

· Several websites also offer free image hosting, of these  ImageShack is very popular and does a neat auto thumbnail:

2005053109197fv.th.png

You should use the "Thumbnail for forums (1)" link code that is supplied to post here smile

· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.

· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.

Re: July 2006 Screenshots

This is my first submitted screenshot...yay. big_smile

It's a WIP, so my next one will be more "me." Using OB3 with Clearlooks theme, no panel, no nothing...running Audacious and the Gimp. Wallpaper by Mandolux.

FVWM-Crystal (default + ACPI, Midnight theme), Industrial GTK theme, various fonts including snap and smoothansi, wallpaper is the aforementioned Stormgreen.

(FVWM-Crystal is awesome but ROX annoys the heck out of me, very mouse-oriented. I wonder if FVWM-Crystal will cooperate with Thunar or PCManFM...)

Same as last month, only with visibility themed to match my openbox setup.

Visibility is the nice little pager in the bottom right there. (available in the AUR)

I always felt that ROX had plenty of keyboard shortcuts. I like it better than nautilus, but I haven't tried Thunar.

What libs/deps are required to run Thunar? Do I have to install all of XFCE or just a few libs?

Re: July 2006 Screenshots

openbox, firefox, thunar, xterm, screen:

screenshot219qu.th.png

iBertus: Thunar requires exo and libxfce4util, plus a few pkgs not related to Xfce. I see that I should've compiled it with fam as well because currently my thunar doesn't know when files are removed/added.

Probably would also work with gamin if preferred.

How do you get that menu button in firefox?
