Ok so I got a fresh arch install and started using pacman to install kdebase,xorg-utils,nvidia drivers and many other files, struggled with xorgconfig until I got a(n almost) working xorg.conf that takes me into the kde startup screen but it hangs with the following message
xset: bad font path element (#92), posible causes are:
Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
Directory missing fonts.dir
incorrect font server address or syntax
I've tried installing as many xorg-font packages as I could, but I can't sem to fix this problem. after killing the xserver I get the following error
Warning: connect () failed: : No such file or directory
FreeFontPath (FPE) "usr/share/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing
I've tried googling these error messages, but have yet to find any real solution, please help me understand how to get my desktop up and running.

Don't know what the other error is about but I've gotten the second one before, it seems harmless.

Well I did get xfce up and running, so I guess my xorg.conf is ok.

I have "exec startkde" in .xinitrc if that's what you mean.

Allright, not sure about the font prob, but fixing the network configuration seems to solve the prob. found thread with a similar problem seems setting lo to "lo 127.0.0.1" in rc.conf does the trick.

Ok while kde starts up fine now, half the time I start my pc, the network fails. gotta find a new fix for this now.
