Wireless issues starting from kernel 4.11.x

My dhcp client (dhcpcd) is failing to communicate with my wireless card

01:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 7260 (rev 6b)

dhcpcd wlan0
wlan0: interface not found or invalid

When adding my wlan0 to my bond0 I get the following error messages in my kernel

bond0: failed to get link speed/duplex for wlan0 
bond0: failed to get link speed/duplex for wlan0 
.....

In both cases my wifi wpa_supplicant perfectly connects to my wifi but there seemse to be something wrong with the ioctl? (thats me just guessing)

This started happening start from kernel 4.11 and is still happening on 4.12.5. While its working fine on 4.9lts
Any advice how to troubleshoot/fix this is welccome.
