Re: kernel BUG at mm/usercopy.c:75!

What have you found when you searched on the error/issue? Had you just updated the machine? What kind of hardware?

You have to provide enough information for anyone to be able to try and help.

Re: kernel BUG at mm/usercopy.c:75!

If you have a way to reliably trigger the problem then try to do so without the virtualbox modules loaded. They might not be the cause but upstream is not very fond of drivers that don't come with the kernel if you want to get help upstream.

Re: kernel BUG at mm/usercopy.c:75!

sry for my short starting post. I made it on the run.
So I run an x86 pc with an Intel® Core™ i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz × 4.
During the crash, the Kernel was the current LTS kernel. I just updated the last weekend I think.

Searching on google I don't find much. just https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1628686 or https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1373326 and they all talk about VMs, but I actually don't run any vms right now, even though I have some of them, but they are not on.

Now I run the normal current kernel. Lets see how that plays out.

not yet. It happens randomly.

Ah and there is this one
https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/8/17/551
but quite frankly I don't understand it.

Re: kernel BUG at mm/usercopy.c:75!

If you don't use any virtual machines just uninstall virtualbox or make sure the virtualbox modules are not loaded, it will make things easier as it removes one variable from the problem.
