Installing from ISO on Xen

Hi, since the latest update kernel version my provider has has had problems getting Arch to run/install.

It has been running now for 2 years without a hitch and as soon as I upgrade the kernel to 4.12.6 the server dies (on a Xen PV instance).

So they set up a new HVM (?) instance with the current ISO download, so that I could do a full install myself via VNC.

It comes up with the grub boot selection but as soon as I try to start the Arch install it crashes as shown below:

(I just managed to capture this before remmina closed the session).

What can I do to get it to boot or what can I ask them to do to get it to work? (They have options for Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL and CentOS too but I would rather stay with Arch Linux).

Doing it the Linux way since 1997 and Arch way since 2015 (and loving it!)
Platforms: Intel, ARMv6 (Raspberry Pi), ARMv7 (BeagleBone Black), ARMv8 (Raspberry Pi)
Languages: C, C++, ASM, Pascal & Java

Re: Installing from ISO on Xen

Provider switched distro to Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. :-(

It is amazing how bad it is to go back to a disjointed and massively modifying distribution after Arch.

So the question's nature is now more theoretical and rhetorical than practical.

Re: Installing from ISO on Xen

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/55447 might have been the issue on the PVM domU.
