I recently got a a RNG407-Dualv2 (Dual GigabitE PCix card) but cant get it to connect.
I tried it in windows and it worked fine, it shows up on my server and i can configure it but i cant get an address via dhcp.
It shows up as
realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 rev 0c
and i already have a rev 6 onboard working fine and had another rev 6 (1 port nic) working before the change.
I just tried the r8168-lts package while blacklisting the r8169 driver and it didnt help.
I also tried the linux-hardened kernel with no change either.
Also tried iommu=soft (its on in the bios) and again, nothing
Anybody have any insight here?
I know it was hit and miss on the older kernels, < 4.7 but LTS=4.9 so im all out of ideas

Yesterday, I also bought similar 2-Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-Express Card - FG-ENW02B
I use static IP (instead of DHCP). Card gets detected and IP is configured but it sometimes pings and sometimes not. (mostly does not ping)
It uses Realtek chips too.
04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 07)
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 07
If i use default r8169 driver --- ethtool fails to change duplex/speed/autoneg saying its not supported
if i use r8168 package (blacklist r8169) -- ethtool succeeds.
Most of times it does not ping but then suddenly it will start pinging and then again stop after 20-30 pings.
Also pinging any LAN machine from Arch box sometimes gives this error:
ping: sendmsg: No buffer space available
ping: sendmsg: No buffer space available
ping: sendmsg: No buffer space available
Anyone has any idea?
