Rocket League steam controller only as player 2

Hi,

When I try to play Rocket League from Steam big picture with the steam controller, once the game has started, the game asks me to join by pressing the right arrow button. The first player is the keyboard. I can not find a way to have the steam controller as player 1 on my local machine. I tried to unplug the keyboard but then the KDE session log out and I have to connect it again to be able to login .

I could really use some help here!
