Trackpoint and mouse buttons not working on T450s

The trackpoint and associated mouse buttons seem to have stopped working recently on my Thinkpad T450s.

The touchpad and touchpad click still work.

Re: Trackpoint and mouse buttons not working on T450s

I upgraded to 4.12.10-1-ARCH today and saw that middle button + trackpoint scrolling no longer works. However, the trackpoint otherwise works fine.

Re: Trackpoint and mouse buttons not working on T450s

I can confirm on a T450 the trackpoint and buttons are completely non-functional.  I suspect the symptoms vary slightly on the different thinkpad models, but the cause is likely the same with a fix on the way:

EDIT: all is well here on 4.12.12

yep, see here, I got the same problem. A kernel-update solved it.
