[SOLVED]Volume wheel on laptop

Hello everyone, I was just wondering is it possible to use volume scrolling wheel on laptop under openbox only, I am asking this because it is working perfectly under MATE
and just can't figure it out what application or maybe panel plugin is used when on MATE so I could install it on openbox.
Btw I am using openbox only with tint2 panel, both have pulseaudio installed and that's it.
Laptop is old Toshiba Tecra S10-11A. If any other info is needed let me know, help would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Re: [SOLVED]Volume wheel on laptop

It depends on how the volume wheel works. Is there a chance that `xev` sees it as a key event?

If so, you can just bind it to volume up and down events (e.g., `pactl` commands). If not, then I'm not sure how MATE is doing it.

All the best,

Re: [SOLVED]Volume wheel on laptop

Thanks for the reply, I am reading some info about what's you have wrote and I am thinking it could be done that way, so I will try and see.
Edit: What I have learn - if I start mate-keybinding-properties under openbox it starts mate-settings-daemon automatically and then volume wheel is working under openbox too, so maybe not the best solution for this, but if I put mate-settings-daemon on autostart I will have volume wheel control. It is lousy setup but it is the best I could think of so I will mark this as solved.
