Flatpak xdg-desktop-portal not working

Hi,

I've installed flatpak and a number of flatpak apps on my desktop and they pickup my GTK theme well (Adapta-Eta). On my laptop its a different story. I've installed everything the same but the flatpak apps don't pickup my GTK theme. Not only do they not pickup my GTK theme but they don't pickup any settings from gnome-tweak-tool such as enabling the minimize and maximize buttons or the larger text size via Universal Access.

Anyone have any idea how to begin troubleshooting this? I'm fairly new to flatpak but I've read the wiki and a good deal of info over at flathub.org, I just can't figure this out.

Ok looks like it works under X11 but not on Wayland. Is this expected?
