Hi,
I've been trying to get Boomaga-qt5 (virtual printer) working again after it broke some time ago, but until now to no avail. From searching the web and own observations I know the issue is related to poppler, offered "solutions" are for Debian-based systems and might be outdated anyway.
Arch and all installed applications are fully up-to-date. Boomaga and its dependencies:
- Boomaga-qt5 0.9.1-2 from AUR
- ghostscript 9.21-3
- qt5-tools 5.9.1-4
- snappy 1.1.4-1
- poppler 0.59.0-1
- cmake 3.9.3-1
Behaviour: when printing to the Boomaga virtual printer, the Boomaga window opens but the document preview is blank. Printing from Boomaga to the physical printer also results in blank pages. Boomaga should create pdf's from each received print job, through poppler, and display these, but fails to do so. The journal is full of poppler errors:
org.boomaga[3647]: poppler/error (14058): Bad 'Length' attribute in streampoppler/error (15182): Missing 'endstream' or incorrect stream lengthpoppler/error (14058): Bad 'Filter' attribute in streampoppler/error (14083): Illegal character <9a> in... etc etc etc
This goes on for about 80 lines in the journal, mostly are "Illegal character" errors.
So...two questions:
1) What is going on here? Changes in poppler broke Boomaga?
2) How to fix this? Amongst other things I've already tried removing and reinstalling Boomaga and poppler (removing the latter also removed a lot of dependent applications, but so be it).
Thanks,
Marco
