hi.
I have updated my netbook running archlinux, and I can't login anymore in budgie desktop.
I use lightdm, and I type my password which is accepted, then a black scren for one second (which is not normal I think), and then I am taken back to the login screen.
I tried gdm and it behave the same
In fact I am using plymouth, and I updated it the 2nd of october, but I booted and login sucessfully since, it is only since yestarday, that I can't. I made an update but I don't know if it's related or not.
I can't see nothing suspicious in the log.
I can login from a console.
I remember vaguely having the same problem before but I can't remember exactly what it is was. A file permission problem ?

Take LightDM out of the equation.
Set up your ~/.xinitrc to run budgie and try launching it via startx. Does this work?

I behave the same when using startx with a ~/.xinitrc
It behave also the same with another user loging in from lightdm
Edit: I can login into gnome. So the problem is only for budgie it seems

I may be mistaken, but I think there is a problem with Budgie in the latest release. Try a forum search to see if you turn up anything.

@mrunion: ok so this thread not very specific about budgie nonetheless mention this bug for budgie.
I am trying to rebuil budgie-desktop as said in the bug report. Thanks
Edit:
There is this bug report also https://github.com/budgie-desktop/budgi … ssues/1190
Edit2:
I manage to build budgie-desktop 10.4 with meson 0.42.1-2 and sassc and disabling animatiions in budgie settings to avoid crash of budgie when closing mxaimized apps.
Can't get budgie-desktop 10.3.2.1 to build
