The page on laptop mode tools has recently been edited with a section which claims that users should disable intel_pstate for power-saving purposes and only keep it if they care more about productivity than power-saving on battery.

This contradicts everything else I've read on the wiki, the forums and elsewhere. However, most of my research was done some time ago when the driver was pretty new. Has subsequent experience shown the advice to use intel_pstate to be mistaken?
The wiki claims the change adds 'a way to save power'. Is that the current thinking? Is it really true for all hardware, as the wiki now implies?

The wiki can be edited by anyone I find this blanket statement quite dubious to be honest. There's a reason pstate exists and is the default governor.

I've rolled back the change as it was not discussed at all.
