[SOLVED] MTP failing to read device information

I have a huawei honor 5x and am unable to connect to my phoen via mtpfs jmtpfs gmtp etc...

Here is the output of jmtpfs when I try it:

 jmtpfs mnt/
Device 0 (VID=12d1 and PID=1082) is a Huawei Ascend P8.
LIBMTP PANIC: Unable to read device information on device 20 on bus 1, trying to continueterminate called after throwing an instance of 'MtpErrorCantOpenDevice'
  what():  Can't open device
Aborted (core dumped)

Here is the similar output from gmtp:

 gmtp 
Detect: No raw devices found.
Detect: No raw devices found.

Here is my device in lsusb

Bus 001 Device 029: ID 12d1:1082 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. 

Here is the rule in /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/69-libmtp.rules

cat /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/69-libmtp.rules | grep 1082
ATTR{idVendor}=="12d1", ATTR{idProduct}=="1082", SYMLINK+="libmtp-%k", ENV{ID_MTP_DEVICE}="1", ENV{ID_MEDIA_PLAYER}="1"

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

Interestingly enough, I switched to using a USB 3.0 port instead of a 2.0 one and this seemed to solve the problem. I'm not sure why.

I'm going to mark this as solved I guess.

The same error also appears if the mobile device is in screen locked state.
