I'm running gnome-shell, xorg, and mode-settings driver at full resolution (2560x1440@60hz). Everything on this laptop works great, but the touchpad has a very slight lag that is hugely annoying. Anyone else experience this?
I am forced to use the touchpoint, which is fine except that it's too slow (and I can't figure out how to make it go faster either).

try
options psmouse synaptics_intertouch=1
in
/etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf

Trying this now.. I don't think I feel any difference so far.

I have the same laptop except 1080p, and touchpad has 0 lag. Maybe it's your video settings? Are you using modesetting mode or the intel driver?

I've switched to the intel driver and added the `options psmouse synaptics_intertouch=1` to /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf, and I *think* it is better. Not sure which did it (or if it's just a placebo effect).

Sounds kinda familiar, I think I experienced a similar issue on my 4th generation model briefly, but it has long since stopped being a problem and I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it.
I hope you've managed to fix your issue, again, I remember taking similar steps.
