Graphics issues - display (sometimes) hangs when launching opengl apps

Hi

I have an issue when I launch OpenGL application (steam, some games):
both monitors start display fixed content.
I can move mouse cursor and it's shape changes on particular areas,
but everything is still. All apps seem to work - I can hear sounds, music etc.
If I click something I know a proper action was executed, but nothing changes
on screen. Like there was a screenshot taken and it is being displayed all the time.

I doesn't happen always but is quite frequent.

here.

I have found suggestion that it can be caused by power issues (NVRM message),
so I've disconnected one of my harddrives and two cdroms, but it didn't help.

What graphics hardware do you have? What driver are you using?

I've tried both nvidia and nvidia-dkms, just in case.

So I have found this thread.
I have switched "Rendering backend" in systemsettings5 from OpenGL 2.0 to 3.1 and I have no issues so far.

Another thing, which seems to be relevant, is to have "Allow applications to block compositing" turned OFF
