Frequent crashing problem

My laptop keeps crashing during the last 3 weeks. The crashing is immediate shutdown! This happens whenever demanding increase, e.g., opening many tabs on chrome, or compiling a large latex file, or rendering using openshot.

Re: Frequent crashing problem

Details: my laptop crashes whenever the software demand increases, e.g., opening many taps on chrome with uploading and downloading activity, or rendering a 1-hour video using openshot, etc. However, sometimes it does not crash on the same activity. Someone advised me of this link: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/microcode; I tried it and installed the intel-ucode and updated the grub but it did not help.

I created a log file using:

journalctl -b -1 > CrahLog.log

The log file is on https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BhrDS … e7WQdThkd6

Regarding the dust problem mentioned above, I will see. However, I do not think so since I cleaned my laptop 3 months ago.

Thanks so much.

ps. Did I have to edit my first post with this information, or posting a reply (as this) is fine.

Re: Frequent crashing problem

Did you bother to look at the log?

Re: Frequent crashing problem

I looked at the log, but it is too huge to understand anything. I am not expert in that.

EDIT:
Ok, I tried looking again. I found something that the system started stopping after:

Nov 07 07:22:05 archlinux kernel: thinkpad_acpi: THERMAL EMERGENCY: a sensor reports something is extremely hot!
Nov 07 07:22:05 archlinux kernel: thinkpad_acpi: temperatures (Celsius): 100 41 36 N/A 30 N/A 34 N/A 39 45 53 N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A
Nov 07 07:22:05 archlinux kernel: thermal thermal_zone1: critical temperature reached(100 C),shutting down
Nov 07 07:22:05 archlinux systemd[1]: Stopped target Graphical Interface.

Is that related to, graphics card, processor fan, etc.? I cannot guess.

Re: Frequent crashing problem

Thermal Zone 1 is usually the CPU.

It typically means https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 7#p1747457
Or one of your fans is broken. Or a heatpipe. Or the heatspreader has insufficient contact to the die. Or you downforced fans in BIOS. Or ...

Whatever is, your CPU overheats and the system shuts down to prevent permanent damage.
