alienware 13r3: no hdmi output

Hi everyone,

I'm running arch on an alienware 13r3, and everything is just fine. I even got bumblebee + nvidia to work. I had to boot with:

acpi_osi="!Windows 2015"

to avoid a freeze when starting gdm. However, I can't get video out through HDMI. I used to be able to just run

intel-virtual-output -f -b -d ':0'

and it would start the video output, but for some reason, it's not working anymore (after a few kernel upgrades). Right now I'm running kernel 4.13.11 and nvidia-dkms. Anyone having similar issues? any known way to fix this? thanks in advance.
