Hello guys,
I've done a fresh install on a MacBook Pro 7,1, and seem to be experiencing some problems getting WiFi to work. I've meandered around the forums and tried many 'solutions', but nothing seems to work. I have tried the b43 driver, broadcom-wl, broadcom-wl-dkms, etc. and NADA. Any help would be much appreciated.
When I input 'lspci -vnn', this is what pops out in regards to my Wireless:
02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Limited BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:432b] (rev 01)
Subsystem: Apple Inc. AirPort Extreme [106b:008d]
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17
Memory at d3200000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: b43-pci-bridge
Kernel modules: ssbOffline
You will get fuller output if you run the command as root. (I don't know if the additional details will help, but they presumably can't hurt.)
Your card is listed at https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/use … f_hardware, so you do wan the b43 driver rather than the others. However, note the status:
14e4:432b partially BCM4322 a/b/g/n N (r4) wl
This means that your card is currently partially supported. I don't know what the fifth column indicates, but the final column indicates that an alternative driver is an option, so you might see if that has better support.
Beyond that, you need to post more information about what you've done and where things are going wrong. You haven't even said which packages you've installed (e.g. which firmware) etc.
