[SOLVED] Using network printer with cups

Hello and greetings,

First thanks to this awesome community, while installing
and trying to get everything to work on my new Laptop
the countless excellent wiki pages helped me a lot.

I encountered now a problem though that I am unable to
solve.

At work I want to use our network printer and therefore
I installed cups. Gnome tells me "Es scheint, dass der
Systemdruckdienst nicht verfügbar ist" ( It seems that the system print service is not
available). I tried to
start the service then via:
systemctl start cups.service (also tried systemctl start cups)
and systemctl enable cups.service
The response is: Failed to start cups.service: Unit cups.service not found.

I followed advice given on this page:
Cups help

Indeed /usr/lib/systemd/system/cups.socket doesn't exist but also /var/run/cups/ doesn't exist so the second advice kind of doesn't make sense. The main installation seems to be in /usr/share/cups and /usr/lib/cups.

Thanks for the help and let me know if you need more information.
