Thinkpad X220 refuses to play nice with WPA2-PSK network.

Whenever I use a WPA-PSK(Tkip) based network the laptop seems to work fine, but when I switch my router to WPA2-PSK(TKIP/AES) or WPA2-PSK(AES) which I need for some other devices I own the laptop will connect but won't send or receive any packets. It states it's connected to the network, even obtains an IP address, but it refuses to send or receive a single byte.

Model: Thinkpad X220
Wifi card: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205
Network Manager: NetworkManager (with KDE Plasma GUI)
Driver:iwlwifi

Tried live booting from Ubuntu and it still refuses to connect... Anyone know if  Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 has issues with wpa2-psk? Could my wifi card just be screwed?

Disable all networking services, try to connect manually, and report back with any error messages.

Followed the guide, and after typing :

wpa_supplicant -B -i interface -c <(wpa_passphrase MYSSID passphrase)

(with my SSID passphrase and interface of course)
It was reported that the machine had

Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant

I ran

dhcpcd <my interface>

and finally tried using ping... no dice.
[code iw dev <my interface> link]
Not connected.... Did I mess something up?
