unable to start xorg under Xen

I followed the Arch Linux guide for running arch under Xen.
but after booting got a black screen, no HDMI output etc.
after rebooting into normal(without Xen) arch and disabling gdm I got it to boot, but the same problem happens when I open xorg(or gdm/lightdm etc)
x --configure runs but it gives a sigsegv at 0x50, consistently.
ill try and get the output, but I'm kinda buzzy right now. ill do it tomorrow

anyone have any reason this should work under Xen?
it works perfectly fine without Xen, as I'm typing this on the same Arch system.
